It’s autumn already! I love this time of year. There’s crunchy leaves on the ground, sunshine and cool breezes, woolly layers and spiced drinks everywhere! If you’re feeling sad about the darker evenings and colder weather, don’t be! As well as providing the ideal excuse to stay in and read, autumn gives you the perfect opportunity to stock up with my autumn favourites!
My autumn favourites
I mean, is it even possible to do an autumn favourites post and not include cardigans?! They’re great for layering up and down, and a fun and cosy way to switch up your outfit. I’ve been obsessed with mustard and dusky pink shades recently, even though I’ve literally never worn them in my adult life before! The cardigan in the middle is my new favourite though 🙂

Autumn skin care
With the wind picking up and the heating drying out our skin, it’s important to pack back in that moisture and keep our skin feeling soft and healthy! Here’s my faves for autumn.
Save: O’Keefes Working Hands Hand Lotion – £5.28 – it’s not glamourous, but it sure keeps your hands soft and moisturised, and stops dry skin in its tracks!
Spend: Korea Skin Care Facial Sheet Masks 16 pack – £11.92 – perfect excuse for lying down for half an hour with a book! 😉 Plus, Korean skin care products are always amazing – maybe I’ll do a post on my faves! Would you be interested? 🙂
Splurge: The Body Shop Drops of Youth Bouncy Sleeping Mask – £25 – little bit pricey, but full of natural ingredients and hyaluronic acid which is a godsend for when the central heating and the wind dries out your face!
I always find that this weather makes me want to read thrillers, or books set really far away so it feels like I’m travelling when I’m actually stuck indoors!
I’m currently running the #AutumnisforAsia challenge with @theopenbookshelf and @theannotatedbookshelf, which aims to expand literary horizons and push people out of their comfort zones with their reading choices! I think it’s really easy to stick in one niche without realising it, so I’ve been exploring Asia via literature since about August now, and I’m really enjoying it! I’d love you to join in – check out how it works on my Instagram story collection 🙂
Some of my favourites so far have been Convenience Store Woman by Sayaka Murata, The Travelling Cat Chronicles by Hiro Arikawa, The Hen Who Dreamed She Could Fly by Sun-Mi Kwang, and two others which I’ve not finished but am loving – I Have the Right to Destroy Myself by Young-Ha Kim, and Geisha of Gion by Mineko Iwasaki. If you’d like to get involved but not sure where to start, check out some suggestions on my Instagram story collection for this challenge, or shoot me a message on there 🙂
